The Big Band Bash, England’s first Big Band Festival for decades, will take place at The Maltings, Ely, starting on Friday 14 June 2024 until Sunday 16 June 2024. Over the weekend each of the six big bands playing will take audiences through a particular aspect of big band music; the Swing era of the 1930s and dance bands of the 1940s (Umbrella Big Band), a special concert highlighting the music of Duke Ellington (Harmony in Harlem), a tea dance (Blue Skies Big Band), current big band music (Upbeat Big Band and Linton Jazz Orchestra) and Big Band at the Movies (4 Villages Orchestra).
